Mini Pro 18ltrs

The innovative MiniPro unit is specially designed for a wide variety of blasting jobs with exact metering of (fine) abrasives at blasting pressures from 0,1 to 10 bar.

The abrasive valve of the MiniPro is pneumatically opened when blasting is started and is closed again when the blasting is stopped. This avoids the unwanted blow of (a lot of) abrasive when starting up, like which is the case with many other systems. Blasting is immediately precise at start-up.

Another big advantage is that the vessel stays under pressure. The machine reacts almost immediately when it’s started/stopped because the vessel doesn’t need to be (de)compressed every time like is the case with ‘classic’ blastpots. The abrasive is almost immediately on transport speed and is therefore the most efficient and precise way of blasting. This method makes it furthermore possible to blast with a pressure of 0,1 bar.

All this makes the MiniPro a very precise and efficient blasting unit with which the abrasive consumption and all involved costs can be brought back to an absolute minimum.

Construction

De MiniPro is built with a CE approved pressure vessel with a contents of 18 litre. The machine has two wheels and a handlebar to move it.

The different control components are housed inside the control box.
The machine is standard painted in white and the cover in blue.

The machine is delivered with a CE certificate according the obligatory European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) and a clear ‘step-by-step’ manual.

 

Components

The blast pot is easily filled through the filling opening which automatically opens/closes. The steel hinged cover avoids foreign parts and moisture entering the pot during operation.

The compressed air filter with automatic drain on the inlet of machines takes out the last residues of moisture, oil and dirt.
This ensures problem free operating of the machine.

With the precise pressure regulator blasting pressures can be set from 0,1 bar up to 10 bar. The knob of the regulator can be locked so working pressures can not be changed accidentally.

The pressure gauges give a clear indication of the system pressure (pressure form the compressor) and the set blasting pressure.

With the switch at the control box the machine can be put into “stand-by” mode after it is filled with abrasive. The blast pot is pressurized and is thereby ready to be used.

With the switch in the “off” position the blast pot is depressurized so new abrasive can be refilled.

The specially designed MiniPro abrasive valve is the heart of the machine and optimizes the abrasive consumption.
With the large control knob all sorts of abrasive up to 0,7 mm can metered precisely.

With the choke valve small abrasive blockages can easily be solved. The construction allows the abrasive valve to be easily removed for maintenance or trouble shooting.

 

Hose package

Standard the MiniPro is delivered with a 5 meter hose package.
This packages consist out of ½” blast hose and control hoses which are combined in a blue protective sleeve. As an option also a 10 meter hose package can be delivered.
The deadman control for the remote control of the machine in integrated in the handle of the ergonomic blast gun. This way the blasting work can be performed with great comfort.

 

Nozzle and compressed air consumption

The tungsten carbide nozzle is very wear resistant. The choice of nozzle orifice depends for a great deal on the available compressor. The nozzle orifice in combination with the blasting pressure determine the compressed air consumption as shown in the below table in l/min. Standard the 4.8 mm nozzle is delivered with the machine.

Wet blasting (vapour blasting)

To limit the dust nuisance during blasting, some water can be added to the abrasive and air flow. The wet blast attachment ‘WJN-Mini’ is mounted on the nozzle. This special attachment needs tap water to function. Water, air and abrasive are mixed internally for an optimum mixing result.

Optionally the water supply can be opened/closed the same time the blasting is started/stopped. The automatic water valve (/W2) is then mounted on the machine. This avoids the spill of water and also avoids the possibility of water running into the blast hose when there is no blasting activity.

 

Fine abrasives and soda blasting

For the use of very fine abrasives (< 0,3 mm) and for soda blasting, the abrasive valve can be executed with a calibre nipple with an orifice of 3 mm. This results in the most exact metering of fine abrasives and makes it the most efficient way of soda blasting with ARMEX.

To avoid possible blockages of the 3 mm orifices an abrasive sieve with a 2 mm mesh can be delivered.

Angular fine abrasives are likely to form “bridges” inside the blast pot resulting in an irregular abrasive flow. To solve this, a pneumatic ball vibrator can be mounted on the hopper of the blast pot. This keeps the abrasive in motion by which a constant flow is guaranteed for an uniform surface finish.
